JOB GOAL
To coordinate the admission, registration, and records of students in the school.
REPORTS TO
Principal
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma with training in secretarial procedures. Comprehensive knowledge of procedures, practices and operation of an elementary/secondary school office. Ability to use excellent business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Good mathematical and office practice skills, including clear, polite telephone communication skills. Demonstrated ability to operate computers, word processors and peripheral equipment and to utilize a variety of software and databases. Ability to work harmoniously with students, educational staff and administration and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability in organizational skills:
effective communication with staff and students.
Physical demands•position requires some standing and sitting, kneeling and walking. Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling will not normally exceed thirty (30) pounds, and will usually be in the area of ten (10) pounds.
JOB DUTIES
Prepare FTE reports accounting for every student and their schedule.
Meet with and register new students for school.
Input student information into the computer to compile student records.
Meet with parents and students to prepare paperwork to withdraw students from school.
Maintain and update current immunization records.
Maintain all individual student records.
Maintain accurate class load records.
Enter grades and attendance data transmitted from outside the school system.
Provide teachers with accurate and updated class rosters both in printed and electronic versions.
In conjunction with guidance counselors, evaluate transcripts of incoming students.
Download teacher grade books and issue report cards.
Prepare and transmit transcripts and other official documents as requested.
Prepare school honor roll and listing of class rank and averages.
Oversee Maintenance of accurate attendance records.
Transfer grades, absences, and test scores to student permanent records.
Assist school administrators in the development of the master schedule.
Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered.
Maintain current working knowledge of PowerSchool Student Information System.
Establish and maintain good public relations with the community, parents and school visitors. Maintain a professional atmosphere in the main office.
Attend approved training sessions, staff development activities, and required meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Position works 210 days.
EVALUATION
Performance is evaluated in accordance with the personnel policy on classified evaluations.
