As an administrative assistant, you will support the associate vice president of hospitality and wellness and the dean of students with the management of scenarios involving students, families, and staff. Your responsibilities include answering phone calls and emails for the office of the dean, performing accounting functions such as purchase requisitions and approvals, and maintaining the university’s crisis response manual. You will manage communications with faculty about student emergencies that result in missed classes and keep detailed records of student interactions. Additionally, you will oversee the calendars for the associate vice president of hospitality and wellness and the dean of students.
The person in this role will support SCAD orientation and recruitment initiatives, university-sponsored festivals, and special events. You will conduct pre-meeting research to provide background information, plan meetings, and offer setup support. This may include creating agendas, arranging rooms, assisting with A/V requirements, catering, and taking meeting notes. Among other duties, you will coordinate and distribute the weekly on-call manager schedule.
The ideal candidate provides a high attention to detail with strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
Experience handling confidential information
At least one year of relevant professional experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Travel required: Less than 10%
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
