Our Church is seeking an Administrative Assistant to be the heart of our day-to-day operations. In this in-person role, you’ll help keep our ministries running smoothly, support our vibrant community, and contribute to a mission that matters. Whether you’re greeting visitors, managing records, or assisting with communications, your work will directly support a welcoming space where people grow in faith, serve with purpose, and feel truly at home. Monday – Thursday 8 hours shifts!
Position Overview:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our church operations. This in-person role involves administrative and bookkeeping responsibilities, requiring strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to multitask effectively. The Administrative Assistant will report to the Church Administrator and work closely with clergy, staff, and volunteers. The ideal candidate will be professional, welcoming, and supportive of both traditional and non-traditional families.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to church staff and committee chairs. Assist with bookkeeping tasks related to financial operations. Answer phone calls and greet visitors in a professional and welcoming manner. Maintain electronic and paper membership records, including financial contributions and attendance data. Track and report church attendance records. Manage office supplies and oversee inventory, placing orders as needed. Support scheduling and event coordination for church ministry activities. Assist with the development, proofreading, and distribution of service bulletins, newsletters, and other communications. Coordinate and oversee office volunteers as needed.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional telephone etiquette and message-taking skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and visitors. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
