SUMMARY:

Serve as liaison between school personnel and parents in support of improving academic achievement for Title I students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance 2.Facilitate effective communication between and among the school and parents regarding the provision of Title I educational services to students 3.Confer with classroom teachers regarding the instructional needs to Title I students; collaborate with staff to identify appropriate activities and materials to enhance at home learning 4.Maintain parent resource center 5.Complete Title I documentation as required for all parent involvement activities 6.Provide workshops and assistance for parents designed to enhance their ability to support the school’s efforts to increase their children’s academic performance 7.Participate in student development and achievement related communication with parents, students, counselors, teachers, the principal and/or other administrators 8.Perform general coordination duties such as ordering materials, attending meetings and engaging in various forms of correspondence 9.Attend professional learning sessions and/or required conferences 10.Adhere to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission’s Code of Ethics for Educators, all Board policies and regulations and all local school procedures 11.Ability to be present at the physical worksite 12.Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations 13.Perform other duties as assigned and allowable by intended program

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university Hold or be eligible for school system’s required certification in appropriate educational field Keyboarding, telephone and filing skills Ability to establish priorities, work independently with limited direct supervision, simultaneously manage multiple tasks, and deliver a quality work product by a designated deadline Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work cooperatively with school and department staff 2024

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling and repetitive fine motor activities. Prolonged periods of standing, walking and sitting. Vision, hearing and verbal communications are essential functions of this position.
