Responsibilities:

Schedule surgeries for patients and coordinate with appropriate clinical and surgical personnel Discusses preoperative information with patients Provide patients with accurate information pertaining to their procedure Answer calls from patients scheduled for surgery and all surgery related inquiries Coordinate arrangements with hospitals, surgical equipment representatives, and other materials Serve as a friendly liaison between physician team and the patient Assist physician teams and other departments as needed Requirements Prior experience working as surgery or procedure scheduler, spine or orthopedic a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Able to maintain professionalism and composure when speaking to patients and visitors Strong customer service and phone etiquette skills Basic knowledge of computer programs Strong typing skills, quick and accurate data entry Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
