Class Summary This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,560 hours per year (averaging 29 hours/week) and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits. Job Description This Part-time Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of basic clerical office functions, which may include typing, filing, copying, faxing, opening, sorting, and distributing mail, and/or performing other related activities. The ideal candidate will need a thorough understanding of the assigned area, and be flexible, all while providing exceptional customer service and working well under pressure. Essential Duties Greeting and assisting customers
Answering and directing phone calls from the public
Processing and entering data entry techniques
Performing office procedures and methods with applicable software
Operating office equipment, such as computers, faxes, etc. Public Speaking Speaking to a variety of members of the public in a front desk setting
Making announcements to large groups
Informing the general public about services
Communication, and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction Grade The grade for this position is 97. The salary will be dependent on education and experience. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED
One year of general office experience
One year of customer service experience Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with senior adults
Valid driver’s license
