JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent with additional business school training and/or proven experience as a secretary.

Certification or Licensure:

None is required.

Skills:

Computer skills required. The work requires prior office clerical experience and the ability to acquire word-processing skills. Fully experienced workers use initiative and independent judgment to follow through on matters to see that assigned tasks and activities are completed. Performs general clerical duties. Serves as receptionist as needed. Handles all secretarial duties related to the Athletics Department.

Work Experience:

Previous clerical experience preferred.

PRIMARY DUTY

This position is responsible for providing secretarial support to the Director and Athletics, staff, and assists in responding to requests from schools and the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Creates Athletics reports and correspondence for the Director.
2. Maintains general correspondence.
3. Logs in referrals and keeps a current log of all referrals received; organizes referral data in student files.
4. Schedules appointments, gives information to callers and otherwise relieves officials of clerical work and minor administrative and business details.
5. Has a working knowledge of word processing and other software such as Microsoft Office.
6. Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure that files are complete.
7. Files correspondence and other records.
8. Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business, guides the visitor to the Director or other persons, and/or Responds to requests.
9. Responsible for guiding and qualifying community coaches.
10.Create and enter schedules into the electronic ticketing platform.
11. May arrange travel schedule and reservations.
12. Compiles statistical and other data from logs as required by the RCSS, State, and Federal Education Authorities.
13. Performs bookkeeping duties, including purchasing (requisitions), supports payroll.
14. Performs additional duties which may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Athletics.
15. The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law, board policy, administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends as required for sporting events.
