Qualifications:

2. Proficient in technology applications

Properly manages the overall safety and efficiency of routes by analyzing and assessing bus routing to provide solutions that increase vehicle utilization, efficiency and operator and student safety.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates the scheduling of bus routes and bus stops and revises as necessary
2. Manages the preparation of route descriptions, students by stop and student lists; maintains route files, maps and records
3. Communicates and dispatches student stop information, route times and legality of stops to bus operators
4. Evaluates traffic conditions and student load to develop safe and efficient bus routes
5. Coordinates with local agencies for upkeep of roads/limbs that could prohibit safe transport of students; communicate road safety hazards/closures to bus operators
6. Utilizes Global Positioning Systems and physical checks to determine one-mile walk zones
7. Resolves school transportation problems through use of alternative routing
8. Provides updated data files for technology department to maintain street list and district’s Find My Bus
9. Manages the Co & Extra-Curricular Field Trip program to include securing drivers, assembling monthly mileage reports and invoicing mileage fees
10. Manages all aspects of the district’s driver’s education program. Serves as liaison between instructors, department of motor vehicles, rental and insurance companies
11. Performs functions of a school bus operator in the absence of a substitute
12. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring effective functioning of the department
