POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Weight Analyst with at least 15 monthsof experience in mass properties. The candidate will develop andsupport weight control programs for new construction projects andmaintain control over weight changes throughout the vessel’sconstruction lifecycle.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 15 months of relevant experience in mass properties
- At least 2 years of college level course work in industrialtechnology and drafting with an emphasis on college levelmathematics including trigonometry and analytic geometry
- Working knowledge and experience in basic stability of vesselsand the understanding of the impacts a weight control program hason a program
- Experience using ShipWeight software preferred SKILLS
- Familiarity SAWE recommended practices
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft products
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform calculations to estimate weight of center of gravity fromdesign drawings and 3D models
- Prepare weight estimates in support of proposals and newconstruction programs in accordance with SAWE recommended practicesand contractual requirements
- Support meetings with internal and external stakeholders topresent current state of weight estimate(s)
- Monitor weight trends for new construction programs and recommendrequired action by engineering, production, and or programmanagement
- Review vendor information received for weight compliance andincorporation into reports
- Assist with weight surveys for vessel inclines and launches
- Support scale weighing through the yard and integrate actualweights into developed weight database
