Location:
New Orleans, LA Summary The position is responsible for overall executive secretarial responsibilities to the Department of Theatre and Dance and the chair, with specific responsibilities to the Dance Coordinator and the Dance faculty. The employee in this position generates and maintains a flow of administrative and academic papers and reports, implements University policies and procedures, implements and maintains personnel actions and procedures for hiring of faculty and staff, reconciles and monitors budgets, implements and monitors course scheduling and enrollment procedures, distributes information on undergraduate and graduate programs, and maintains daily operation of the office including answering and relaying telephone inquiries.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven ability to anticipate and meet established deadlines, with strong follow up skills
Ability to establish priorities and to follow up on pending matters
Ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse individuals
Ability to work and make decisions independently
Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity and discretion in the performance of all duties
Knowledge of Macintosh computers and software; and
Working knowledge of University on-line procedures: Datastore, TAMS, Student
Information System
Knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting and budget management
Required Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2-3 years of college
3-5 years academic and office management experience
Compensation Information
