Full Job Description TITLE:
Administrative Secretary (Middle School Main Office)
TYPE OF POSITION
37.5 hours per week (10-month position with additional summer hours available); salary as set forth in the agreement between the Seekonk School Committee and Administrative Secretaries of Local 1701, State Council 93, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO
START DATE
Immediate for summer hours; full-time 10-month schedule beginning August 20, 2025

Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered qualified for this position candidates must minimally have the following: Associates Degree or equivalent work experience as an Administrative Assistant Knowledge of office practices, and procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, and Word Organizational, bookkeeping, and math skills Communication skills – written, oral, and listening Collaborative and interpersonal skills Professionalism and confidentiality
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS, which include but are not limited to: Greet students, parents, and guests Process Residency Forms and New Student files Process Report Cards, Progress Reports, Failure Letters and Honor Roll Maintain Student Activities Account Maintain Emergency Binders – Staff and Student Schedules Answer a multi-line phone and record messages Maintain the following as needed: Daily Staff Attendance Weekly Payroll Staff Paperwork Office Supplies Building Use Calendar Coordinate daily staff absences and prepare substitute folders Sort/Distribute incoming mail Assist in Coordination of Graduation ceremony Diplomas Medals Graduation Program Process staff paperwork and submit to the Administration Office including but not limited to purchase requests, payment requests, and leave with pay forms Coordinate Locker Assignments for students Process and maintain discipline forms Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned The Seekonk Public Schools strives to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment in which all students can thrive and succeed in its schools.
