PrincipalPosition Function/Job Purpose:
Ensures a safe, pleasant and effective atmosphere during the lunch and recess periods. Enforces school policy and behavior management practices.
Qualifications:
Experience working with elementary aged children.
Willingness to support the schools mission and vision. Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
The successful candidate will have:
Skills to manage students during lunch and recess periods. Knowledge of conflict resolution and the schools policy and procedures around student behavior. Dispositions include providing consistent, fair and policy-based direction to students; maintain confidential and sensitive information; communicate effectively with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds; communicate in oral and written form.
Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesSupervises lunch and recess periods. Establishes and maintains a positive climate during lunch.
Participates in principals staff meetings and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.
Keeps the Teachers and/or Principal informed of issues that may arise during lunch or recess.
Maintains confidentiality of all student information. Follows the school-wide behavior plan.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Be physically and emotionally capable of carrying-out responsibilities and duties in a busy, computerized environment. This position requires hand/wrist movement as in writing or using a computer keyboard/mouse and moderate to frequent exertion in body movements such as reaching, bending and twisting.
Vision requirements include the ability to read routine and complex documents and to use a computer.
