This position will comprise both clerical duties as well as the clinical responsibilities of a medical assistant. Our current team member is headed off to PA School, and we hope to replace her with an equally enthusiastic and bright candidate. We are a small but busy practice. The ideal candidate is kind, well organized, with strong interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate effectively with patients and teammates in a professional demeanor is required. Previous experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) desired but not required.

JOB DUTIES

As a member of our team you will primarily facilitate the smooth work flow of patient care, interacting closely with patients and physicians. This includes responsibilities such as managing the flow of patients during clinic days, rooming patients, taking vitals and medical histories. Additional job duties include, preparing preoperative packets and assisting in preoperative visits, organizing and tracking medical and pharmaceutical supplies, assisting physicians when necessary on in-office procedures, organizing and stocking exam rooms, autoclaving surgical instruments. Working with other members of our team, clerical duties will include, maintaining the operating room schedule, working with insurance companies, communicating with patients and staff around surgery, scheduling appointments, preparing new patient documents. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, problem solving, and reliable. Because of the nature of the practice the job requires flexibility, teamwork, and an empathetic demeanor. We are particularly interested in candidates who are aspiring clinicians.
