Full Job Description Status:

Part-time, hourly, non-exempt Reports to:

Minister or Executive Leadership Hours:

30 hours per week,Monday through Sundays. Schedule flexible, 4 hr days onsite including Sundays, 6 hrs from home.

As Office Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting this mission by keeping our operations running smoothly and welcoming all who connect with our congregation. Position Summary The Office Administrator is the central communications and heart of operations of our vibrant congregation. This role includes administrative support, facilities coordination, communication management, and engagement with staff, lay leaders, and the broader community. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, independent, adaptable, and aligned with the values of Unitarian Universalism. Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Operations Serve as the first point of contact via phone, email, and in person Manage church calendars and schedule rooms and Zoom events Prepare and distribute weekly Orders of Service, announcements, and worship bulletins Maintain office equipment and order supplies Submit invoices and payroll information to accounting Maintain well-organized paper and digital records Offer support and guidance to congregants and volunteers during Sunday Services including, but not limited to, hospitality, childcare and support for any special events Communications Edit and publish weekly newsletters and periodic updates Maintain and update the church website with webmasters support. Comfort with utilizing social media platforms such as FaceBook, Instagram, etc. Maintain membership and newcomer databases Support membership engagement efforts, including regular updates to the directory Facilities & Rentals Coordinate building use, including contracts, access, and policies for rentals and long-term tenants Collaborate with the facilities team and/or custodians Program building systems (door access, HVAC) to support events and rentals Support to Leadership & Mission Provide administrative support to the Minister, staff, and church committees Help compile and produce the congregation’s Annual Report Participate in regular staff meetings and strategic planning initiatives Support the congregation’s mission by facilitating an inclusive, welcoming, and justice-centered environment Qualifications Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, and web content management tools Ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly Basic knowledge of facilities operations and vendor management Comfortable working independently and collaboratively Commitment to confidentiality, boundaries, and inclusive hospitality

Preferred:

Associate’s degree or higher Experience in a nonprofit or congregational setting Familiarity with Unitarian Universalist values and congregational life would be helpful.
