Job Description
New Heights Charter School is Massachusetts’ only public school that involves all grades (6-12) in the Early College approach. Nearly all our 11th and 12th graders are full-time students on a college campus with younger students earning college credits at the school. You will join a committed, creative team of educators who provide academic and social-emotional support to young people coming from high-need backgrounds ensuring they are college and career ready. We support our staff with a wide array of professional development opportunities and coaching. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Learn New Heights policies and procedures & assists with day-to-day operations
Receives visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing, and announcing them appropriately
Maintains office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges, etc.)
Ensures that all copiers and printers are in working order, assists with paper jams, calling maintenance, and ensuring copiers/printers are fully equipped with paper and toner
Forwards requests for information and messages to the appropriate individuals
Ensures the front desk area is tidy and presentable at all times
Maintains, sorts, and distributes mail for school (including informing appropriate individuals of packages and mail)
Assists in routine mailouts and community wide communications
Perform clerical duties, including but not limited to data entry, answering phones, answering front door, filing, photocopying, and maintaining a schoolwide event google calendar
Maintains and tracks an inventory of supply room stock
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Have strong attention to detail
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Ability to use or learn relevant technology (Google Suite, etc.)
