Overview:

This is a provisional appointment.
Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for all components of screening, processing, and programming Boston Police Department-issued ID’s for contractors as well as new and existing employees.

Responsibilities:

Maintains and updates Comnetix data (using personnel orders); picture taking; fingerprinting, running, and reviewing the BOP’s using the CJIS system.
Coordinates drug testing, printing ID’s, and programming ID’s.
Prepares routine audits for all employees whose photo ID is older than three (3) years old.
Prepares routine audits for all active contractors with access.
De-programs and collects ID’s upon termination, resignation or retirement.
Performs CJIS Offline Requests through the Office of Internal Affairs and/or Anti-Corruption.
Processes the Commonwealth of Massachusetts ID’s for active/inactive sworn members of the department.
Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional or technical experience in database management, data reporting, or related field; working knowledge of personal computers and various software packages.
Two (2) years may be substituted with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Preference will be given to applicants with experience fingerprinting, using Comnetix, or using the CJIS system. Experience in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and is strongly preferred. Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
