Job Description
Public Safety Administrative Assistant Town of Freeport, ME 16 Main Street, Freeport, ME 04032 The Freeport Police Department is seeking a full-time Public Safety Administrative Assistant to support core public safety operations in a highly visible, fast-paced environment. This position requires strong administrative and technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while engaging professionally with the public, Town staff, and law enforcement personnel. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the Police Department Maintain accurate records and manage department databases Perform general bookkeeping and clerical duties Interact professionally and courteously with the public, Town staff, and outside agencies Handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality Technical Competencies – This position requires the ability to: Manage digital records, perform accurate data entry, and maintain electronic filing systems Operate multiple software platforms during time-sensitive operations Troubleshoot basic technical issues and coordinate with IT as needed Use department-specific tools, including public safety databases and secure communication systems Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training preferred Experience in municipal government or public safety preferred Must demonstrate: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Proficiency with technology and office software Clear, professional communication and responsive customer service in a technical setting
Job Details Schedule:
