12-month support staff position with district-recognized holidays and paid vacation, sick, and personal leave. Leave time will be prorated for the 2025-26 school year based on start date. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position, with a district provided benefits package that includes employee health, dental, life and vision insurance.
COMPENSATION
According to the Support Staff Pay Schedule within the Administrative Assistant I range. The pay range for this position begins at $16.26-$19.24 per hour. Placement within the range on the Support Staff Pay Schedule is determined by like experience and education.
JOB SUMMARY
Assist in the efficient operation of the school’s educational and administrative office and project a positive image for the entire school community.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalency certificate. Preference will be given to candidates with prior secretarial or administrative assistant experience. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in an educational setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and maintain a safe, accessible, positive, and inviting office environment for all members of the school community. Provide information and assistance to students, parents, staff, other schools, outside agencies and the public. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Board policy, State and Federal laws for office, staff and student matters at all times. Answer phones, take and route messages, and respond appropriately to requests for information. Assist with the maintenance of files and records as appropriate and assigned. Greet all visitors, students, and teachers courteously, determine their needs, check appointments and direct to the proper person. Collaborate with the District Registrar in order to enroll students. This includes scheduling and facilitating building tours, upcoming events, communication and documentation from transfer schools, determining incoming credits, and maintaining records for new, active and inactive students. Communicate all record request concerns such as disciplinary items and alternative education with building administration. Create and submit, as necessary, reports and spreadsheets using various District information systems. Communicate with students, parents, District personnel, administrators and outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns. Assist building administration with coordinating substitute coverage and monitoring absence information within the Absence Management System. Provide basic first aid assistance as trained by the nurse in emergency situations, etc. Maintain professional appearance and behave in a manner appropriate to a public setting. Classify, sort, and file correspondence, mail and other related data. Maintain building budgets with administration approval for ordering supplies, textbooks, fundraisers, office equipment, and all other items. Maintain bulletin boards, display cases, front/outdoor signs with professional appearance. Assist with placement and processing of building supply and/or equipment orders. Assist with scheduling room and building usage. Provide assistance during emergency drills and with related procedures. Other duties as assigned by the Administration.
