Description of Work This position with NCDOT offers full State Benefits, competitive salaries and many career development opportunities. This is a re-post. Previous applicants must reapply to be considered. This is a clerical position located in the Weaverville Resident Engineer’s Office. Duties include answering multiline phone system and directing calls to proper person(s); processing various monthly reports in SAP and Excel; maintaining and ordering inventory and supplies; processing weekly payroll; processing invoices for payment and other general office duties as assigned by the Resident Engineer. Typical work schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This position also requires work during any adverse weather, such as snow and/or ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc., which can lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays. The ability to legally operate a motor vehicle is necessary. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Qualified applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following: Customer service experience, including resolving customer issues.
Experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Access, Word, and Excel.
Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports.
Experience in record keeping.
Experience with letter writing, using correct spelling, punctuation, and proofreading.

Additional Expectations:

Must have a demonstrated ability to provide customer service to the general public in person and by telephone. Must have demonstrated abilities compiling, verifying, and completing documents. Must have a demonstrated ability to identify problems and provide resolution.
