The Front Desk Receptionist is a key member of our staff and contributes to our team effort to serve the public. Front Desk Receptionist are Essential Staff and assist in project-based work. Wade Ave office site contains several divisions of the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department. Successful candidates will identify and select priorities when faced with multiple tasks to perform. A successful candidate will apply customer service, detail-oriented management skills and a desire to learn while working independently and team based in daily operations.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Knowledge:
- Understanding of parks, recreation and cultural resources environments and willingness to work in those environments.
- Understand the value of parks, recreation and cultural resources for members of the community.
Skills:
- Operate Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word. Experience with Class software is a plus.
- Assist with computer registration process including Internet registration functions and trouble-shooting as necessary.
- Assists full-time staff with the review and preparation of routine reports and managing databases and records.
- Offer customer support to patrons in a multitude of situations including introduction to parks, recreation and cultural resources programs and services offered.
Abilities:
- Able to manage multiple tasks and projects successfully.
- Able to gather information, make computations and assist in department activities. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with co- workers and the public.
