Apex Orthopaedics Spine & Neurology is a Comprehensive Spine and Orthopedics Care provider in North Carolina. Our locations include Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington, and High Point. We specialize in offering cutting-edge treatment with a conservative approach. We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) Medical Assistant with front office experience or a strong willingness to be cross-trained in administrative duties. This is a float position that requires flexibility and the ability to travel between clinic locations based on operational needs. The home clinic will be High Point. The ideal candidate will bring solid clinical expertise, a warm and professional presence, and the ability to deliver outstanding support both in the back office and at the front desk. Clinical (Back Office)
Responsibilities:
Greet and room patients warmly and professionally. Accurately obtain and document patient history in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Perform basic diagnostic procedures such as X-rays (training provided). Dispense medications as instructed by the provider. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment. Act as a liaison between providers and patients, ensuring effective communication and care coordination. Administrative (Front Office)
Responsibilities:
Schedule and confirm appointments accurately with attention to provider, time, and clinic location. Answer patient inquiries regarding account balances, directions, documentation, and general clinic procedures. Obtain and verify current patient information at the time of scheduling and registration. Confirm insurance eligibility and ensure required authorizations are in place for scheduled procedures. Collect co-payments and outstanding balances at check-in. Prepare and scrub charts Document all patient-related communications and follow-up actions in EMR. Prepare new patient packets and ensure all necessary forms are completed upon arrival. Follow up on outstanding patient actions within 30 days or less. Other duties as assigned or requested
Requirements:
Bilingual in Spanish and English is required. CMA or RMA is preferred but not required Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting. Experience in a front office or receptionist role in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional, courteous, and patient-focused demeanor. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for travel between clinic sites.
