The Senior Programmer – eLearning & Institutional Research Systems Administrator is a technical administrator responsible for GTCC’s Learning Management System (LMS) and associated integrations, plug-ins, and custom programs, as well as key systems used in Institutional Research (IR). This position ensures the stability of core eLearning systems by monitoring logs, analyzing trends, conducting testing, and reviewing documentation from industry leaders. Additionally, this role designs, manages, and integrates student, course, and faculty data from the Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS) into college-wide tools, including student engagement and early alert systems, institutional research software, and faculty credentialing systems. The Senior Programmer writes custom interfaces and reports using tools such as Informer, ODS, Watermark, and Zogotech to support instruction and decision-making. The position provides data to the Director for analysis, supports end users via the Helpdesk, and organizes technical documentation. The Senior Programmer collaborates with ITS and eLearning teams, partners with stakeholders across Instruction and Institutional Research to define requirements, and ensures data accuracy, system performance, and compliance.
Min Salary $69,474.78
Mid Salary $78,159.12 – We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate’s experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience.

Education Required Bachelor’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related area.
Education Preferred Master’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related area.
Canvas Technical Admin certification
Project Management certification
Experience Required 5 years of experience with programming and application support, including a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
2 years of experience as primary administrator of a college Learning Management System (LMS), including course creation, user management, and integration with multiple systems.
2 years of experience with complex programming languages, web tools, scripting languages, database design, and operating systems, including SQL.
Experience with helpdesk systems, such as Service Desk Now
Experience with creating reports using a business intelligence and data analytics tool for a student information system, such as Informer
Experience with Colleague or similar Student Information System (SIS)
Experience Preferred Greater than 5 years of experience with programming and application support, including a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
Greater than 2 years of experience as primary administrator of a college Learning Management System (LMS), including course creation, user management, and integration with multiple systems.
Greater than 2 years of experience with complex programming languages, web tools, scripting languages, database design, and operating systems, including SQL.
Experience with online accessibility standards
Experience with video capturing products such as Studio, plagiarism detection tools such as CopyLeaks, Respondus, and publisher-based online products
Experience creating complex user interface applications and back-end databases that support faculty members, training, and instruction
Experience in data mining and data analytics
Experience with C#, C++, HTML, JavaScript, ASP.NET, Colleague Studio, Unidata, Uniquery, Unibasic, Informer Reports, Colleague
KSA Required Ability to identify data errors and troubleshoot technical issues with accuracy and precision
Demonstrated ability to acquire, evaluate, organize, maintain, and communicate data.
Strong positive interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, build effective working relationships, work effectively with faculty, and utilize critical thinking skills.
Proficiency with MS 365 to include Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Access.
Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including communication clarity and frequency, effective listening, and providing feedback.
Utilize excellent time management and problem-solving techniques.
Values diversity and possesses an understanding of multicultural and cultural competencies; ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, families, and other customers from different backgrounds.
Strong ability to create, develop, and troubleshoot projects in a team environment.
KSA Preferred Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming
Proficiency in both Windows and UNIX/Linux
Demonstrated ability to research information and document work processes and procedural guidelines .
Strong programming skills in SAS, R, or other statistical software programs.
Demonstrated ability to lead a project from inception through implementation and communicate with constituents
