Catawba Lands Conservancy (CLC) and Carolina Thread Trail (CTT) is a nonprofit organization that permanently conserves and manages land and advances trail in the Southern Piedmont of North Carolina. The organization is dedicated to conserving land and connecting lives to nature. CLC protects large parcels of natural land that contribute to clean water, provide habitat for wildlife, support local farms and provide public access to nature, conserving over 18,000 acres to date. CTT is a growing regional network of trails, greenways, and blueways that connect 2.5 million people in 15 counties across North and South Carolina. CLC and CTT also actively engage the public in their mission through community partnerships, volunteer workdays, outdoor programs and special events.

Job Responsibilities:

Board & Executive Director Support Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials, and handling meeting logistics. Assist with collection and organization of data and preparation of reports. Communicate with the Boards of Directors regarding meeting scheduling and other items as directed by the Executive Director. Attend Board meetings and committee as needed. Taking, finalizing, and filing meeting minutes. Organize and maintain Board records, including reports, meeting materials, resolutions and minutes. Ensure Board Member documents, profiles, and other related forms are completed annually and kept up to date. Office Management Ensure an efficient and productive work environment by managing office supplies, equipment, technology and facilities to ensure they meet the needs of the organization. Coordinate with property management, janitorial, and other external vendors to address any facilities or maintenance concerns. Manage organization records, including in offsite storage facilities. Maintain inventory of office equipment. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment. Facilitate effective communication between staff, departments and leadership to ensure everyone is informed and aligned. Assist with planning and execution of internal outings and events. Administrative Support Manage email distribution lists and shared accounts. Monitor incoming and outgoing mail; receive and sign for mail/packages from couriers and deliver to the proper recipient. Assist all departments with clerical support including drafting communications, managing mailings, preparing reports, and maintaining appropriate filing systems.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Notary or paralegal experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail

Compensation Information:

This position is part-time (25-30 hours/week) with a pay rate of $20-$22 per hour. Benefits include a Simple IRA with matched contribution.
