Job Description
The Healthy Opportunities Manager is the point-person for the Food Banks efforts in supportive services, including but not limited to North Carolinas Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP), managing client intake, service implementation, and delivery logistics in an effort to improve health outcomes through wraparound, community-based services. The Healthy Opportunities Manager maintains communication with and adheres to operating guidelines set by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) through local project leads. The Healthy Opportunities Manager manages a network of partner agency subcontractors, external program vendors for dry-goods and fresh produce, internal stakeholders, and neighbors to ensure equitable and high-quality service delivery of Healthy Food Boxes, Fruit and Vegetable Prescriptions, Prepared Meals, and Food and Nutrition Case Management.
Responsibilities
- 30%•Manage the development and sustainability of Healthy Opportunities Program to serve members and expand programmatic reach.
Manage staff as programmatic needs evolve through an increase in service opportunities
- 20%•Lead initiatives for outreach, sustainability, and growth of subcontractor network including but not limited to trainings, program evaluation, and support visits•20%•Ensure implementation and timely reporting of projects, programs, and interventions through weekly distributions, including but not limited to physical movement of healthy food boxes, prepared meal boxes, and other distribution equipment•10%•Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure invoicing of Medicaid insurance providers and payments move through payment process timely and accurately•10%•Manage inventory of healthy food boxes, prepared meals and other program supplies.
Collaborate across departments to ensure timely deliveries, product rotation/movement, and diversified food menus
- 10%•Participate in budget creation and ensure funding utilization for all programs and grants, maintain records for reporting, and provide quarterly reports to organizational leadership•Responsible for adhering to all HIPAA policies and procedures to protect the integrity and security of private personal information (PPI)/personal health information (PHI) by ensuring confidential data is received, handled, stored, and shared in compliance to these policies•Provide excellent customer service to all neighbors, staff, donors, partner agencies, volunteers, and the public.

- Qualifications
- At least 5 (five) years professional experience in community organization or program management required Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, or Communications (or a related degree) required
- Minimum of 2-3 (two to three) years of people management experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) required
- Must be a strong verbal and written communicator
- Must have a valid drivers license with a good driving record
- Demonstrated knowledge of food justice and systemic barriers required
- Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with a diverse group of people required
- Knowledge of and experience with federal safety net programs preferred
- Must believe in the mission of the organization.
