Description of Work This position with NCDOT offers full State Benefits , competitive salaries and many career development opportunities. Position is located at the Columbus County District and Resident Engineer’s Office and will provide administrative and clerical assistance to the District Engineer and Resident Engineers. Position duties include answering multiline phone system, assisting general public, processing worker’s compensation and accident reports, creating purchase orders and contracts, processing various monthly reports in SAP, Ariba, and Excel, maintaining and ordering inventory and supplies, processing guardrail damage claims, invoices, and house moving applications, and other duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Management prefers applicants with the following: Customer service experience, including resolving customer issues
Experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Access, Word, and Excel.
Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports.
Experience interpreting and/or explaining policies, procedures, and laws.
Experience with letter writing, using correct spelling, punctuation, and proofreading.
