Description:
We’re two professionals who’ve mastered our careers but could use a master of everything else! We’ve been so lucky to have an absolutely incredible family assistant/dog nanny in our home these last few years. Life brings new chapters, though, and both her life and ours are heading in different directions, so we’re starting our search for our next marvelous human to join our little family. We’re married with no kids (YET!) and we’re searching for someone exceptional to help us manage the beautiful chaos of our daily lives. If you’re a seasoned family assistant who can turn wild ideas into reality and knows how to fill quiet moments with productive magic (and has a love for dogs!), we want to meet you. Our current family assistant is able to stay with us through June, but we have flexibility for the right person, both earlier than that or later if needed. We need anywhere from 30-40 hours/week. Right now, our family assistant works 8:30a-2:30p M-F, occasionally staying longer depending on the day and the tasks on her list. Making your end time closer to 4:30p to get you up to a guaranteed 40 hours/week is doable if that’s what you’re looking for. We also would love for you to help us on occasional (VERY occasional, like just a couple times per year) weekends. We’ve been known to throw get-togethers, and on the days when one of those are happening (you would know these dates in advance), your help day-of getting the house set up and ready to go would be life saving. We’d be happy to treat these days as extra hours or give you a shorter day in the week leading up to the weekend, whatever you’d prefer. Final piece of the scheduling puzzle: When we travel, we would love for you to stay at our place overnight with our two pups (more on the details of this in a bit!). Our story is still being written. The lady of the house is a powerhouse in real estate who radiates warmth and loves all things feminine. Her husband leads a local company and brings a love for fishing, tennis, and streamlined organization to our dynamic. Together, we’re all about entertaining loved ones, planning the next adventure, and working hard so we can play harder. While we don’t have children yet, they’re definitely part of our future plans. That’s something worth mentioning here as well – we’re in serious talks to eventually grow our family, and we would love for this person to be comfortable/experienced with infants, and be open to that eventually becoming a part of your job as well. We do not anticipate needing full-time care, so your role wouldn’t transition to full-time nanny, but someone who would be excited to help out when needed and incorporate occasional care and support is definitely something we’re looking for. We want you to be a part of our team long-term, so being upfront about this aspect of the role is important to us. Until the eventual human kiddos, our furbabies have our entire hearts! Our two precious dogs are the current stars of our household. These little characters are pure joy wrapped in wrinkles – they’re the perfect mix of excitement and snuggles. While they do tend to get a bit enthusiastic on walks (hello, leash pulling!), they make up for it with their adorable snoring and faithful companionship. They’re not exactly street-smart, but they’re full of personality and will happily be your sidekicks during the day. As we mentioned earlier, when we travel, you’ll be our go-to for their care, with plenty of advance notice and additional compensation for overnight stays. We travel about 10-20% of the year (this will likely go down whenever we do eventually welcome a baby) – so please be ok staying with the dogs at our home during those travel periods. So what’s the job? You’ll help with everything from daily management of our two-story home (tidying, laundry, organizing, etc.) to meal planning and preparation (we’d love both in-home cooking and prep-ahead options) to admin assisting. The role includes managing our social calendar, coordinating appointments, handling gifts and special occasions, tackling returns and errands, keeping the house organized (doing a daily “reset”), and helping with post-wedding thank you notes. On the admin side, we’ll need help booking reservations, flights, and a few work-related errands. While we have a weekly housekeeper for deep cleaning, we need someone who can maintain order between visits and isn’t afraid to jump in wherever needed. A love for cooking would be fantastic – health-centered and delicious meals are the goal! Health and safety matter to us, but we’re flexible on your vaccine status. While we’re COVID-vaccinated and back to enjoying life, we understand that not everyone can be vaccinated for health reasons. We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to health and safety, especially as we plan for our future family. We’re offering $30-40/hr with guaranteed 30-40 hours weekly, and the chance to become an essential part of our growing family story!
