The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is charged with implementing the state’s public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools at the direction of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is seeking applicants for a Education Program Administrator I (

Program Administrator) for our Office of Federal Programs. The Office of Federal Programs is responsible for: This division supports approximately $600,000,000 in federal funds provided to districts and schools each year and an additional $6,000,000 in state funds. The primary role of this division is to provide grants administration, program monitoring, data collection and reporting, and to facilitate the necessary technical assistance to ensure not only compliance, but quality programs for students. Grant-funding programs include Title I, 21 st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC), Title II, Title III, Migrant Education, Neglected and Delinquent, Rural Education Achievement Programs, Title IV, School Improvement Grants, and Homeless Education. The division is responsible for other federal initiatives including the ESSA State Plan, Targeted and Comprehensive Support and Improvement, the National Title I Distinguished Schools Program, the Federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program, Federal Comparability Reporting, Federal Prayer Certification, Ed-Flex Authority, Consolidated State Performance Report System (CFDC), Migrant Student Interstate Exchange Initiative (MSIX), 21 st CCLC Data Collection, the Committee of Practitioners (COP), Section 504, and NC Star.

This position is responsible for:

The Federal Program Administrator position is responsible for leading statewide work supported by federal funds designed to supplement and improve data and reporting systems related to compliance. The primary role of the Federal Program Administrator is to provide support for federal program reporting requirements for all applicable programs under ESEA. The Federal Program Administrator provides data driven focus of the office to ensure the work demonstrates progress toward office goals and compliance. Work involves conferring with federal program directors and/or organizational leadership staff to determine overall programming activities of local education agencies and/or non-government agencies to achieve maximum effectiveness with program success and compliance through monitoring and budget support.
