Administrative Assistant of Ashe Campus 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 1328 South Collegiate Dr, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 Posting Details Position Information Job Title Administrative Assistant of Ashe Campus Job Description The administrative assistant provides essential administrative and customer service support for the Ashe Campus, serving as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and callers. As the primary receptionist for the campus, this position ensures a welcoming environment by assisting with inquiries, guiding students through the enrollment process, and managing incoming communications. The assistant demonstrates a commitment to the college’s mission, vision, and core values, actively engages in professional development, and performs additional duties as assigned to support campus operations.

Full Time or Part Time Full Time Essential Duties Summary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides general office support for staff and faculty of the Ashe Campus. Serves as the primary receptionist for the Ashe Campus, with a focus on customer service in the greeting of students and visitors and on incoming phone calls. Assists with marketing and recruitment efforts for Ashe County Programs. Provides on-campus support for evening programs. Assists with tracking faculty schedules in conjunction with other Curriculum and WDCE admins. Provides backup support for the Office Manager, Academic Support Center, bookstore, and the Purdue Library Book Nook. Assists staff with room scheduling, student events, and general office support Supports students and prospective students at the Ashe Campus in the enrollment process and provides a customer-focused approach to problem-solving. Assists Office Manager with textbook inventory, sales, and distribution. Supports special events hosted by the Ashe Campus. Committed to the college’s mission, vision, and core values. Participates in professional development opportunities, both internally and externally. Performs other related duties, as assigned by the supervisor. Required Qualifications High School Diploma and at least 5 years of recent administrative assistant experience or an associate’s degree in a related field. Computer proficiencies should include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse student populations. Commitment to student success. . Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands The work environment is primarily an office setting with occasional requirements to attend events, meetings, or other engagements off-site. The role may involve occasional evening or weekend work to meet deadlines or attend college events. The position requires strong written and verbal communication and administrative and organizational skills. Must be able to work under pressure and handle all confidential matters with discretion. Essential functions of this position require lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Medium work : Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting for long periods for meetings.

Salary Grade Salary Salary Range:

$31,200 to $40,000 based on education and experience in accordance with the college salary plan.
