POSITION
Administrative Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of high school diploma/post secondary education preferred
Five years’ experience in a related area
Proficient in the use of all office equipment
Computer experience with a high level of proficiency with word processing, database management, and other software as needed.
Possess the qualities of efficiency and organization
Demonstrate a high degree of independence and initiative
Possess a high level of interpersonal skills
Demonstrate high levels of professionalism and conflict management
Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
REPORTS TO
Principal or Administrator
JOB GOAL
To enhance student achievement by assisting the Principal or Department Administrator in the efficient operation of the school administrative office.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining a high level of ethical and professional behavior and confidentiality with regard to student matters and all other confidential school business.
Ensuring that all correspondence and documents are prepared in a professional and timely manner.
Typing and/or filing pertinent material as requested by the administrator.
Assisting principal/administrator in the development, generation, and monitoring of the school budget, state grants, grant evaluations and other required forms.
Greet visitors in a friendly and helpful manner.
Assist aides and secretarial help by providing appropriate instruction and training.
Perform any task relevant to the description that may be assigned by the principal/ administrator.
Communicating with parents, community and school personnel in a professional manner.
Following district policies and procedures.
Performing general/building specific clerical and supervisory tasks.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND EVALUATION
Wages, length of work day/week/year, terms of employment and evaluations will be in accordance with the provisions of the negotiated contract.
