SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under direction of the to the Building Principal, this position performs varied and responsible office and secretarial work for an administrator and staff at the department level. Employees exercise considerable initiative by anticipating requirements of administrator and staff for information, assembling information for reports coming due, and tracking events or situations to keep administrator and staff informed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of business English and modern office and secretarial practices and procedures. Requires an understanding of district wide, departmental and of applicable Board polices affecting departmental operations.
Ability and skill in the proficient operation of desktop computer systems, phones and common office equipment.
Ability to take and transcribe oral dictation.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Power school experience preferred.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree from an accredited college or secretarial school with a major in secretarial studies, including courses in computer literacy and word processing. Three (3) years experience in a responsible secretarial position involving supervisory responsibility and office management experience.
