Gym Manager Great Bay Athletic Club (soon to be Seacoast Fitness and Pickleball) 191 Exeter Road, Newmarket, NH 03857 About Seacoast Fitness and Pickleball Great Bay Athletic Club is a 55,000-square-foot multi-sport facility located in Newmarket, NH. Our club features a robust mix of tennis, racquetball and fitness, with exciting plans underway to introduce indoor pickleball courts and additional wellness programming. Our mission is to provide a clean, professional, and community-focused environment where members of all ages and fitness levels can thrive. Position Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and experienced Club Manager to lead daily operations, oversee facility needs, manage staff, and work closely with our Sports & Events Coordinator. This role is hands-on and highly collaborative, requiring strong leadership, operational savvy, and a genuine passion for member service. Key Responsibilities Facility & Operations Management
- Supervise day-to-day operations across all club departments: fitness, tennis, racquetball, and upcoming pickleball areas.
- Ensure all equipment, courts, and common areas are clean, functional, and inviting at all times.
- Oversee vendor and contractor relationships for maintenance and facility services.
- Monitor and manage inventory of supplies for cleaning, the pro shop, and refreshments.
- Utilize and maintain court reservation software, point-of-sale systems, and billing tools. Team Leadership & Staff Oversight
- Hire, train, schedule, and lead a team of front desk, operations, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and positivity through clear communication and supportive leadership.
- Lead by example and promote our Respectful Culture Philosophy rooted in trust, follow-through, and reliability. Member Services & Community Engagement
- Ensure all member interactions are handled with professionalism, patience, and positivity.
- Quickly resolve member issues related to billing, court reservations, and general inquiries.
- Develop programs and initiatives that increase member satisfaction and retention.
- Engage with members personally—know their names, preferences, and promote a friendly club culture. Collaboration with Sports & Events Coordinator
- Plan and execute events including tournaments, leagues, ladders, clinics, and camps.
- Support the logistics, staffing, and marketing of all scheduled events.
- Ensure all programs are well-promoted and run smoothly. Marketing & Member Growth
- Develop and implement marketing strategies across social media, email, and local outreach to grow membership and promote events.
- Manage content creation, scheduling, and updates across Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms.
- Maintain and update the website with current program and facility information.
- Monitor analytics and adapt marketing efforts based on performance data.
- Work with paid advertising teams to manage leads and convert them to memberships. Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in club, gym, or multi-sport facility management (or similar).
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a passion for customer service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency with software systems related to reservations, billing, email campaigns, and social media management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a dynamic environment.
