Job Purpose The Office Assistant will execute timely andefficient clerical support to office staff and management. Dutiesand Responsibilities Receive daily mail coming into the office andsort by team/function Photocopy, scan and/or upload documents intoEMR systems and/or department team(s) Distributing documents,faxes, scans and correspondence to department team(s) CompletingMedical and Billing Record Requests Maintaining filing systems Allother duties as directed by Manager Use, protect and disclosepatients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordancewith Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)standards Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAApolicies and procedures at all times Limit viewing of PHI to theabsolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned dutiesQualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Abilityto work on-site is required Knowledge of healthcare administrationa plus Knowledge of EMR systems is a plus Proficiency in MS Officeapplications such as Word, Excel, Power Point and OutlookProficient in use of email and internet Strong written, verbal andinterpersonal communication skills Strong organizational and timemanagement skills Knowledge of administrative systems andprocedures Gracious and welcoming personality for customer serviceinteraction
Working Conditions Physical Demands:
While performingthe duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required tomove around the work area; Sit; perform manual tasks; operate toolsand other office equipment such as computer, computer peripheralsand telephones; extend arms; kneel; talk and hear.
Mental Demands:
The employee must be able to follow directions, collaborate withothers, and handle stress.
