Salary:
Minimum starting $16.00/hour The Health Office Aide supports the functionality of the Nurse’s Office and is responsible for overseeing and processing all aspects of student attendance. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who acts as the central point of contact for attendance inquiries and procedures, working closely with students, families, and school personnel to maintain precise records and support an organized and secure educational setting. The Health Office Aide needs to be a warm and welcoming presence for students and their families. This approachable and friendly disposition is crucial, as they’re often the first point of contact for entering schools and for addressing attendance issues, helping to build trust and ensure a positive experience for everyone entering the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the functionality of the Nurse’s Office Manage daily attendance: Record student attendance, track late sign-ins, and process early pick-ups.
Facilitate arrival and dismissal:
Assist with the efficient and safe arrival and dismissal of students.
Manage visitor check in:
Process visitor identification through the Raptor System and notify Administrator or Sentry when a visitor is flagged or shouldn’t have access to the building.
Utilize technology:
Proficiently use our PikMyKid system for student dismissal procedures.
Communicate absences:
Enter absences for automated robocalls to families and verify absences directly with parents/guardians.
Track student movements:
Record and monitor student appointments throughout the school day.
Identify attendance concerns:
Flag excessive tardiness or absences for administrative follow-up.
Process and report data:
Accurately process attendance data and generate requested reports for administrators and counselors. Prepare for the new school year: Set up and organize attendance records for the start of each academic year.
General office support:
Answer phones, redirect calls, and assist with general office paperwork, including scanning documents into the SchoolTool Medical Module.
Provide coverage:
Offer lunch coverage and provide support in the nurse’s office during emergencies or meetings.
Student support:
Call students to the office as needed. Attendance, late sign-ins, pick ups Assist with arrival and dismissal Utilize technology (PikMyKid) for dismissal Enter in absences for Robocalls to families Verify absences with parents/guardians Record and track student appointments throughout the day Identify excessive tardy absentees for Administrators Process attendance data Provide requested reports to administrators and counselors Set up attendance records at the beginning of the new school year Direct students: greet, inquire needs, log students in and out of the Health Office Answer phones and redirect calls Assist with paperwork including scanning documents into SchoolTool Medical Module Provide lunch coverage Cover the nurse’s office if the nurse is called out for an emergency or meeting Minimal first aid, encouraging students to clean cuts/scrapes, and providing band aid or ice pack while waiting for the nurse to assess Call students to the office as needed Assist with screenings (Vision, Hearing, Scoliosis) as directed and record information Refer all medical questions from students, staff, or parents to the nurse Other related duties as assigned by Administrators and Health Office Staff The Fairport Central School District is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
