Care Coordination Position Summary Summary:
The Denials/Appeals Coordinator follows the hospitals and department’s mission to meet its objectives in maximizing reimbursement for services provided and ensuring timely cash flow. The Denials/Appeals Coordinator also strives to facilitate patients and/or their families with payments and assists those with financial hardship in the most cost-effective means possible.
Qualifications Responsibilities:
Education Required Must complete in-house orientation program High school graduation or equivalent required. Associates Degree preferred. Experience And Skills Speaks, reads and writes English Preferred one year Insurance appeal/denial experience Ability to work in an organized and professional setting Requires excellent oral/written communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (word/excel) and other appropriate computer software Previous customer service experience. Prior office or clerical experience or completion of medical billing/coding courses Knowledge and experience with managed care and third party insurance coverage highly recommended Typing, filing, and accurate data entry skills.
