- UES Light part-time position for a college student or recent graduate to serve as personal assistant to elderly clients of a solo international corporate and investment lawyer and to perform occasional office administrative responsibilities for the firm.
Must be willing to be seconded for on-site shifts at the private client’s home in NYC. In addition to working onsite at elderly client’s home and accompanying clients to business meetings and errands, you may be asked to handle a variety of office and client-related work, which may include legal document preparation/drafting, electronic document management/filing, paper filing, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, preparation and filing of tax forms and other forms, residential property management tasks, presentations and marketing collateral preparation, website updates, client relations, service provider relations, liaising with tech support, and other duties as needed. Fluctuating hours, typically 4 to 8 hours per week, with 20 or more hours per week required during tax filing season (March-April and September-October). Very accommodating flexible hours for exams or other obligations. Ideal for students eventually interested in investment operations, real estate, property management, law, business, bookkeeping/accounting, tax, banking and financial services. Students in the liberal arts are also welcome to apply. Valuable experience, mentorship, and reference provided.
Compensation:
$17.00 to $19.00 per hour depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
Requirements:
Must be located in New York City metropolitan area. Must have completed at least three semesters towards college degree. Highly responsible, organized, communicative, responsive, proactive, and attentive to detail. Willingness to write down and follow directions carefully. Professional demeanor and neat appearance. Character strength to be unfazed by challenging, demanding, or difficult clients. Patience with elderly clients (prior experience working with the elderly, vision impaired, or hearing impaired a plus). Excellent English reading comprehension. Excellent English oral and written communication. Competence in basic mathematics. Neat handwriting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Especially Word and Excel). Excellent references.
