Until Filled The Gananda CSD is seeking a full-time secretary to support the Principal of the Gananda Middle School. This is a 12-month position, 40 hours/week, $19.32/hour. The Middle School Secretary serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the school office by providing administrative support, maintaining records, coordinating communication, and promoting a positive school environment. Applicants must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and will need to learn various district applications/platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Maintain the building principal’s calendars, schedule meetings, + Draft and edit correspondence, reports, and other materials for the building principal. + Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors professionally and courteously + Answer phones, manage emails, and route messages appropriately + Process and organize student registrations, transfers, and withdrawals + Assist with the master scheduling process and student schedule changes + Maintain and review accuracy of student grading data and transcript information + Create and distribute report cards + Prepare documents, letters, and communications for the school administration + Schedule appointments, meetings, and events for school staff + Handle ordering of supplies, materials, and equipment, and manage order processing and tracking + Assist with managing supplies, mail, and office equipment + Provide support during emergencies and follow school protocols + Maintain confidential files and records + Work collaboratively with other clerical staff + Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times If called for an interview, please print the Wayne County Civil Service Application, complete it and bring it with you to your interview.
