$ 19.0-29.02 USD The Administrative Specialist will provide administrative research support to the thriving and growing Center for Women’s Biobehavioral Health Research, directed by Dr. Rebecca Thurston. The Center is the home of several large-scale projects focusing on midlife women’s health. Dr. Thurston is Assistant Dean of Women’s Health Research in the School of Medicine and also directs a research training program. The Administrative Specialist will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the program. This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

Under general direction, provides varied administrative support to the Center for Women’s Biobehavioral Health Research.
Provide administrative support in working on grant proposals, progress reports, and IRB submissions.
Assists with recruitment of pre- and post-doctoral fellows, including receiving and screening applications, scheduling interviews, and onboarding.
Helps with administrative tasks and planning for Center events.
Assist with public-facing materials for the Center and advertising program events.
Develops and sends correspondence on behalf of program and Center Director (e.g., draft and send meeting minutes, draft and send meeting requests).
Makes travel arrangements, processes expense reimbursements, and orders supplies.
Assists with manuscript preparation and submission.
Provides input to presentations (e.g., creation of figures, etc).
Reviews administrative procedures and operating practices and makes recommendations to increase efficiency.
Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years prior administrative experience required OR Bachelors Degree required.
Prior work experience in a research environment preferred.
Capable of monitoring several projects and deadlines simultaneously while working on each effectively and accurately.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
