Job Description

Clerical Asst 2 – Dept of Secondary Education Kutztown University PASSHE (PA) Kutztown, PA 19530 JOB The Department Secretary provides essential administrative support to the Department of Secondary Education, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective communication within the department and with external stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, maintaining departmental records, assisting faculty and students, and supporting departmental events and academic processes. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in office software, with strong interpersonal skills to contribute to the department’s mission of preparing future educators with innovative and research-based teaching practices.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Technical Proficiency Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Zoom, and SharePoint, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new platforms such as SAP, TaskStream, and PeopleSoft.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service in a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Organizational Excellence Highly organized, dependable, and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Attention to Detail and Confidentiality Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality of records and communications.

Initiative and Adaptability Proven ability to take initiative, solve problems proactively, and adapt to changing needs and priorities in a dynamic academic setting.
