POSITION SUMMARY :
Performs varied clerical and secretarial duties including typing, composing correspondence, mailings, photocopying/scanning, filing, telephone screening, resident communication, family communication etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Expertise in Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel, Access and Publisher and general expertise in personal computer operations. Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks and be self motivated and a team player. Must be able to take direction and follow through with complex tasks. Compose routine letters as required. Type letters, reports, forms, schedules, and other key departmental documents. Effectively work with the public while maintaining positive people skills, with good telephone skills. Basic knowledge of long term care, resident rights, and resident and family satisfaction process. Communicate in person and by telephone with other agencies and the public to expedite information, answer questions, etc. Complete/Assist with admission process as directed. Assist social work department with MDS duties as assigned. General filing and secretarial duties as assigned. Flexibility with work hours. Other duties may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Knowledge of business English, spelling and mathematics. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Access and Publisher, with keyboarding skills of 40 WPM. 2-3 years secretarial experience/ LTC environment preferred.
