Job Description
Bensalem Township School District is anticipating hiring a Full-Time Secretary at Registration office located in the district office.
Reports To:
Supervisor of Pupil Personnel Services
General Qualifications:
o Ability to communicate and to demonstrate interpersonal skills effectively in dealing with students, staff, and parents and educational agencies related to performance of the duties of the position.
o Possess appropriate level of education and experience related to the position.
o Experience using Microsoft Office suite, the Google Suite, and the student information system software.
o Ability to interpret and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
o Ability to perform routine tasks cooperatively and to adjust to interruptions, variables or changes in standardized situations.
Specific Qualifications:
o High School Diploma
o Basic computer skills
o Good communication and customer service skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Schedule appointments and maintain accurate record of all appointments.
2. Answer all phone calls related to central registration.
3. Greet parents/visitors to central registration.
4. Handle all incoming/out-going mail to central registration.
5. Multiple Occupancy (MOC)
- Verify residence for all multiple occupancies.
- Contact parents/guardians to complete MOC by letter, email, telephone, and talking points.
- Validate MOC data in the student information system.
6. Affidavit of Guardianship (AOG) - Monitor all AOG status with the district.
- Contact parents/guardians to complete AOG by letter, email, telephone, and talking points.
- Validate AOG data in the student information system.
7. Enter new student data/update addresses in the student information system - Upload all supporting documents to the student information system. (MOC/AOG/Custody Agreements, Foster care documents, and McKinney Vento status)
- Ensure all student data in the student information system is accurate.
- Manually enter students in the student information system.
8. Enrollment - Monitor student enrollment.
- Update all change of addresses (COA) in the student information system.
9. Residency - Facilitate any necessary correspondence for any address that needs to be verified.
- Review a list students who may not live in the district.
10. Other duties as assigned.
This is a replacement poition. The job description is pending approval by the School Board, however the essential functions of the position will be same. This is a “Secretaries A” classification position.
