High School Counseling Office Secretary 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars State College, PA 16801 The State College Area School District is searching for a Secretary in the High School Counseling Office. This position works closely with counselors, students and parents. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coordination of the college application process; managment of student records, including grades, transcripts, diplomas, etc.; scholarship application process; general office duties, etc. The overall duties require management of difficult situations with skill, patience, and diplomacy. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations; demonstrate a commitment to diversity; demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, customer service, administrative, and organizational skills; and have the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently on projects and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. Must be able to work independently as well as within a team. Experience in a secretarial or administrative assistant position is required. Experience in public education and/or completion of an accredited secretarial training program is preferred. SCASD strongly encourages diverse candidates to apply.
