Overview:
This individual will support the daily operations and functions of the College Health Services department, including screen calls, visitors and patients to determine nature of requests and refer to appropriate staff member. This position will also provide back-up support for other College Health Services staff as able.
Schedule :

Qualifications:
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Required
EXPERIENCE
Related experience working in an office setting. Required
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Familiar with medical terminology. Required Ability to perform clerical functions. Required Effective oral and written communications. Required Functional ability with computers. Required Ability to work with minimal supervision. Required Demonstrate ability to collaborate and work with different levels of staff. Required Ability to work well under pressure. Required Ability to work in an active environment with frequent interruptions. Required Capable of dealing with a variety of assignments simultaneously. Required Valid and in State Valid Driver’s License.
Required Responsibilities:
Perform clerical functions /receptionist duties. Experience in use of computerized filing/data base management systems. Ability to read, write and interpret written and verbal instructions. Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information. Collect fees for prescriptions, vaccinations, etc.; issue receipts for services, maintain accurate accounting of monies received. Assist interfacing offices and departments in responding to student inquiries and requests for assistance. Develop and sustain effective, cooperative and referral relationships with student affairs, staff in the residence halls, and with administrators in academic departments regarding student requirements. Demonstrate effective use of the Student Information (SIS), the electronic medical record, or other designated system(s) as necessary to record and/or update information related to College Health. Schedule student appointments, inclusive of vaccines, drug screens, serological testing, and other requirements as needed. Maintain student health records with an emphasis on immunization compliance for all students, by collecting and entering immunization records into the electronic medical record appropriately. Track non-compliance and performing follow up measures to ensure immunization compliance for all students is completed. Collaborate with the Immunization Compliance Specialist within Nursing and Health Sciences to track compliance and ensure appropriate collection of payment for clinical requirements has been satisfied with College Health Services. Assist in enhancing communication efforts which alert all students of college requirements as it relates to immunization compliance. Respond to students, parents, and College faculty/staff questions, and concerns. Assist the Director of College Health in the preparation of written student information materials as well as the development of information for electronic resources such as the Portal website, main Penn College website and e-mail responses as needed. Assist the Director of College Health Services in developing and periodically updating lists of frequently asked questions (FAQ) with which to guide and support the work of the Penn College Health Services Office. Ability to follow and communicate office policies and procedures accurately and effectively. Assist Director of College Health Services in record keeping of Worker’s compensation claims. Perform prescription pick-up at Wegman’s pharmacy for student medications and deliver to College Health Services. Routinely assess accessibility of the College Health Services’ web portal page, documents and publications to ensure compliance.

Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the hourly range is $13.45 – $17.74.
