Job Description

Clerk 1 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars 11 Campus Drive, Bradford, PA 16701 As the Clerk 1 will provide administrative and receptionist support for the Housing Department. The person in this position assists in the daily operations of Housing and Redevelopment Programs by fostering communication, processing mail, maintaining accurate files, posting payments to accounts, preparing work orders for repairs, and receiving and directing phone calls and visitors. Updates applicant and client information in files and assists in application processing, move-ins, move-outs, and transfers.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BRING

Minimum High School diploma/GED equivalent required General knowledge of Authority policies, procedures, and practices as they pertain to housing. Knowledge of office procedures, very good written and oral communication skills, good arithmetic skills, accuracy, keyboarding skill, proofreading ability, knowledge of computer and software systems, filing skill, organizational and time management skills, detail orientation, collaboration skills, telephone and cell phone skills, and email skill. Working knowledge of office systems and machines. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license require flexibility for travel to sites assigned Ability to occasionally travel to office meetings, trainings, conference, as scheduled.

Excellent attendance/reliable dependable/attendance is a necessary function of this position Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills with ability to meet all required deadlines. Demonstrated outstanding customer service skills to effectively collaborate with residents, team, vendors, contractors and problem-solve issues as required. Abide by established procedures for collecting rents and other collectable monies due the agency by residents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Efficiently manages administrative functions to support various public housing programs within MCRHA.
  • Exhibits an attitude of cooperation and courtesy to team members, clients, and the public at all times.
  • Maintains and updates physical and online files with client information. Routinely enters information into computer program to maintain accurate records.
  • Explains HUD rules and regulations, and clarifies questions pertaining to occupancy certification standards and income as well as eligibility requirements for public housing.

Respond to phone calls and emails in a timely manner
