MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
Must pass a criminal background investigation and pre-employment physical.
NATURE OF WORK PERFORMED
This position assists in all facets of the Recycling Bureau including daily administrative office operations and public educational programs. This position works 29.75 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Answers phone calls and responds to complaints of missed pick-ups as well as other issues and inquiries from the residents and general public; addresses service issues such as missed pick-ups and contamination issues, etc. with City vendors; escalates all unresolved issues to the Director of Recycling; enforce proper curbside recycling practices and assists in violation process; establishes and maintains communication with vendors; participates and assists with educational recycling programs within local schools, businesses and groups; conducts commercial site audits at City businesses to ensure recycling ordinances are being adhered to; monitors and maintains website information and implement necessary changes as needed; performs marketing activities to promote City services and to solicit new business; performs data entry for TCRC visitors, shredding customers, enforcement officer; inputs data on daily basis for recycling commodities, fuel consumption and revenue reports; maintains office supplies by utilizing ordering systems, purchasing department, etc.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with a wide variety of persons and groups. Must be proficient using Microsoft Excel, Office, Word, PowerPoint and various computer programs required to perform daily duties.
