Administrative Assistant Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown Education Office Somerset, PA 15501 St. Peter Catholic School is seeking an Administrative Assistant to the Principal to join our fantastic Faculty and Staff for the 2025-2026 school year. All applicants must be able to obtain all state and federal clearances and must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs. Overview:
Under the direction of the Principal/Vice-Principal, the Administrative Assistant performs a variety of clerical and support work; greets and interacts with the public; and works cooperatively with staff, students and parents while performing the duties listed below in order to create and maintain a courteous and professional work environment at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Interacts with the public and employees with tact, discretion and courtesy via the telephone; face to face communication and electronic means
- Assists Business Manager
- Sorts and distributes mail
- Prepares letters, memos, mass mailings, reports and other documentation as requested
- Schedules and coordinates meetings
- Attends and provides accurate minutes for faculty meetings
- Supports school lunch program
- Assists with enrollment process
- Maintains school calendar to include events and activities
- Attends various committee meetings, as necessary
- Maintains records and files
- Communicates with outside vendors on behalf of the Principal/Vice-Principal
- Orders supplies
- Maintains and coordinates local and diocesan calendars
- Coordinates school fundraisers
- Completes NPIS order
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
- Supportive of the mission of the Catholic Church
- Associated Degree in Business or related field and two years of practical experience within an office setting.
- Able to satisfactorily complete background checks and training applicable to diocesan and state requirements
- Two years of practical experience within a school system work environment
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to multitask and prioritize work for accomplishment in a timely manner
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity
Preferred:
- Familiarity with school lunch programs
- Working knowledge of PowerSchool
- Working knowledge of
