THE POSITION

Are you ready to take on a leadership position with the Department of Transportation (PennDOT)? Use your construction administration experience to become a Construction Project Administrator 1! This position oversees the technical and administrative aspects of facility design, construction, and maintenance and repair contracts for various buildings and facilities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role entails overseeing intricate managerial, administrative, and technical tasks related to the management of PennDOT facilities within a designated district. You will supervise the procurement, enhancement, construction, and upkeep of facilities in a manner that prioritizes environmental sustainability, health and safety standards, community relations, and fulfills the operational requirements of the department. This work is crucial to ensuring the efficiency of the highway system for interstate trade, winter and summer maintenance operations, and safety of the public. You will also review and provide recommendations for disagreements with vendors and contract disputes. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment This position will be headquartered in a PennDOT Engineering District Office in Dunmore, Allentown, or King of Prussia, or a County Office located in Susquehanna, Wyoming, Wayne, Luzerne, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Northumberland, Sullivan, Bradford, Pike, Monroe, Carbon, Schuylkill, Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, Dauphin, Lebanon, or Columbia County, if space is available. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. You must be available for 24-hour emergency response.

Telework:

You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in one of the Engineering District Offices or County Office locations listed above.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; or Two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; and a bachelor’s degree in construction technology, architecture, building science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, building automation systems, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities.

Special Requirements:

You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
