Job Responsibilities
Located in South Carolina’s well-known Santee Cooper Country, Santee State Park sits along Lake Marion. South Carolina locals know the lake for its abundant population of large catfish. Santee State Park camping is offered on the lake, but for guests who prefer to spend the night indoors, rondette cabins, 10 of which sit on piers over the lake, are available and have been attracting families for years.

Job Purpose and Duties:

Under general supervision, assists with the management of the parks office and visitor center. Performs diversified duties as governed by general instruction, policies and standard operating procedures of the department. Monitors fiscal records for park to include all revenues and expenditures. Responsible for personnel records and maintaining proper documentation as required for all employees as governed by the agency.
1) Participates in the preparation of the parks fiscal records to include daily and weekly operational reports and daily bank deposits. Processes central and local purchase orders and is responsible for the tracking of specific budgets. Maintains related files.
2) Assists with the management of the park’s visitors center/office to include scheduling and training of office staff and handling reservations for cabins, campsites, shelters, etc. in accordance with agency guidelines. Maintains related files.
3) Maintains personnel records to include new hire packages, leave requests, time sheets and terminations. Completes hourly employee payrolls. Maintains related files.
4) Directs requisitioning, storage and distribution of forms and supplies.
5) Performs continuous public relations activities with emphasis on quality customer service. Work to accomplish the mission of the Park Service through the core values of Stewardship and Service. Effectively deliver quality customer service and address visitor concerns in a timely manner. Work to ensure that visitors leave with a positive experience and a desire to return.
6) Receives and disseminates incoming correspondence and screens that which needs to be handled personally by supervisor; forwards remainder to appropriate staff members. Prepares all outgoing correspondence for mailing. Provides administrative support to Regional Chief.
7) Practice and promote teamwork within the work unit/office, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.
8) Helps maintain a clean and safe office environment.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
High school graduate and 2 years related experience. Ability to deal tactfully and cordially with the public and to communicate effectively.

Additional Requirements:

1) Ability to physically perform assigned duties.
2) Ability to operate a variety of office machines and equipment. Minimum typing speed 30 wpm and a working knowledge of current word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry software.
3) Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Additional Comments
