Description
The Administrative Assistant will provide general support for all key staff/faculty members Including but not limited to scheduling and maintaining appointments and travel arrangements. Must be able and willing to work evening and weekend assignments when required.
Manages both incoming and outgoing correspondence via email, fax, and postal services.
Files/records scholarship contracts, community service logs, freshman programs and attendance.
Serves as Honors Council Co-Advisor, maintaining meeting minutes, budget reports, allocation reports, and letters/memos for retrieval.
Composes letters and memoranda concerning routine matters, type general correspondence/ reports, and prepare e-requisitions.
Creates/designs brochures, posters, bulletin boards, and other specialized materials for the purpose of promoting the University and its programs.
Coordinates and processes travel arrangements for conferences and workshops.
Performs all other duties assigned within the scope of this position.
Qualifications
Associate degree from a regionally accredited university or college in Administrative Office Technology or Business is required.
Two years’ experience as an administrative assistant.
Must be knowledgeable of office practices and procedures.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and database applications.
Demonstrated proficiency utilizing the Internet as a research and communication tool.
Must possess extensive knowledge in grammatical rules, spelling, and language usage.
Possess advanced written and oral communication skills.
Possess strong interpersonal skills, organizational, and planning skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision.
Possess the ability to interpret policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize.
