ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2.5 2.5

out of 5 stars Orangeburg County, SC Maintains the Enhanced 911 System for the County of Orangeburg to decrease the response time for emergency vehicles. Also provides accounting and clerical assistance to the Business License Administrator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary. Approves all street name changes, all names assigned to new roads, and subdivisions and duplicate names; issues and approves petitions for street names changes. Changes and updates emergency service numbers for fire district lines, postal boundaries, telephone company boundaries, assists other emergency service vehicle boundaries. Maintains E-911 database, street ledger files, mobile home park addresses, subdivision files, and the Master Street Address Guide. Communicates with departments and forwards information to local post offices, regional post offices and telephone companies; corrects errors when needed. Updates county maps with new streets. Assigns addresses in the addressing system. Performs other duties as instructed and assigned. Collects business license payments and provides assistance to the public. Posts cash and mails business license. Provides assistance to office personnel as needed. Processes mail. Processes online payments. Prepares, receives, and processes documents, records, and reports as needed. Answers incoming calls and provides information and assistance to callers. Research businesses and/or new construction projects and notifies the business owner of the County business license ordinance and the need for a business license. Operates a variety of office equipment including the computers, printers, calculators, copiers, and fax machines. Provides professional, courteous customer service at all times to in-house staff and general public either by telephone, electronically, or face to face. Performs other duties and related work as instructed and assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Associate degree in Business Administration with two to four years’ experience reading maps or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
