Knoxville, TN Job Summary:
The Program Support Specialist provides critical administrative and operational support for federal programs and projects. This position plays a key role in onboarding and offboarding personnel, ensuring compliance with federal standards and proper management of government-furnished equipment (GFE). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal government or federal contracting environments and excel in coordinating logistics, managing assets, and maintaining documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of project personnel, including scheduling, documentation, and orientation. Manage and track issuance and return of government assets (e.g., laptops, mobile devices, peripheral equipment). Facilitate badge requests and access provisioning in accordance with government security protocols. Maintain accurate logs and inventory of all government-furnished property (GFP). Serve as liaison between program staff and internal/external support teams for administrative requests. Prepare, organize, and update records, reports, and program documentation. Monitor onboarding timelines to ensure timely completion of security clearances, trainings, and account setups. Support compliance efforts by ensuring all administrative processes adhere to federal regulations and contract requirements. Provide general administrative support as needed to program managers and team leads.
Required Qualifications:
Degree:
Associate’s degree Minimum of 3 years of administrative or program support experience in a federal government or federal contracting environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Experience handling GFE and asset management systems. Familiarity with federal onboarding processes, security clearances, and badging procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Work Authorization:
U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements.
Working Conditions:
This position is primarily performed in an office environment or a home office setting. Employees will be required to use a computer and other office equipment for extended periods.
